Founded in a dorm room at the University of Hawaii at Manoa, Nalu Communications was one of Hawaii’s first Internet Service Providers. Working with the Information and Computer Sciences department, Nalu Communications hosted fast internet. Poised to capture the growth of the World Wide Web, Nalu Communications also helped companies set-up networks and create corporate websites. The company participated in programming of open protocol IRC and in beta testing Windows 3.1, 3.11 and 3.2. The company was sold in 1994.
